Wall Street was poised to open with gains on Wednesday despite a gloomy global economic forecast and oil prices rose ahead of an OPEC meeting later this week.Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.4% before the bell while futures for the S&P 500 rose 0.5%.A report forecasting that the global economy will slow next year didn’t seem to bother markets, which have flourished in November despite ongoing inflation, elevated interest rates and geopolitical calamities.Paris-based Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development estimated Wednesday that international growth would slow to 2.7% in 2024 from an expected 2.9% pace this year. (AP) — The North American wolverine will receive long-delayed federal protections under a Biden administration proposal released Wednesday in response to scientists warning that climate change will likely melt away the rare species’ snowy mountain refuges.Across most of the U.S., wolverines were wiped out by the early 1900s from unregulated trapping and poisoning campaigns. By the end of the holiday season, UPS delivers over 20 million packages. Noah Gustafson, an operation manager for UPS, said during this time of the year, certain adjustments are made in order to meet the growing demand for deliveries.  USPS shipping changes coming in January Gustafson said UPS increases its employees for the holiday by hiring up to 45% more people in order to ensure that packages are delivered to the proper address in a timely manner. (CNN) — The supermassive black hole at the center of our galaxy, Sagittarius A*, is spinning rapidly and altering space-time around it, a new study has found.Space-time is the four-dimensional continuum that describes how we see space, fusing one-dimensional time and three-dimensional space together to represent the space fabric that curves in response to massive celestial bodies.A team of physicists observed the black hole, which is located 26,000 light-years from Earth, with NASA’s Chandra X-ray Observatory, a telescope designed to detect the X-ray emissions from hot regions of the universe.
